I'd heard that the race itself was on shaky financial ground ??
By the looks of the stands this thing won't last many years. All those blue things aren't signs, they are unused stands. The stands that had people had holes noticeable. Looks like China won't be around a long time !!
Those blue & red things that are un-used stands were certainly off-putting, but I doubt the China GP will falter. I'm fascinated that the communist juggernaut even recognises such a symbol of capitalism, let alone build a facility and stage the event.
Back to the crowds ... far greater attendance than the various Emirates tracks though ... plenty in GA (non-existent in the Gulf) and plenty in the stands on the straights (again it's a case of "spot the spectator" in Abu Dhabi etc (and we have a couple of V8Races over there too --- apparently draw bigger crowds than the F1)
Wrong! .. as it turned out Peter.

It may well be, but I'm glad to be able to say that I was around to watch this particular Chinese Grand Prix - it was fantastic!
